Vazhapoo masala
I have already posted a recipe of vazhapoo earlier..
Here is another tasty recipe using vazhapoo..
For vazhapoo kothumulak masala we need:
1.vazhapoo cleaned and washed(2cup)NB:put the cleaned and cut vazhapoo in buttermilk overnight before preparation.
2.Small onion(1cup,sliced)
3.Red chilly(1/4 cup,crushed)
4.Grated coconut(1/2 cup)
5.Ginger and garlic
6.Turmeric powder(1/4 tsp)
7.Coriander powder
8.Oil
9.Curry leaves
10.Mustard seeds
11.Salt to taste
Lets start:
1.Add 3tsp oil in a kadai,splutter the mustard seeds and curry leaves.Now add iniin to it...saute it till onion turns golden brown.
2.Now add the crushed red chilly to it.saute it for a minute and add cleaned vazhapoo and salt to taste.Close the kadai with a lid and keep it in low flame for 10min stirring occasionally.
3.Mean time keep another pan,add oil and ginger garlic,grated coconut and let it turn golden brown.
4.Add turmeric powder and coriander powder to the coconut mixture and saute till the raw taste disappear.
5.Just crush the above mixture in a mixer.(It should not be made to a fine paste,just crush)
6.Now the vazhapoo will be cooked,open the lid and add the crushed coconut mixture to it stir well for 5-10minutes.Switch of the stove.
7.Vazhapoo mulakita masala is now ready to serve.
